Joy Goshert

Retired - Asst. Superintendent Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment Wawasee Community Schools

 Mrs. Joy Goshert retired in June 2020 as the assistant superintendent for Wawasee Community School Corporation in Syracuse, Indiana. Mrs. Goshert has over thirty years of experience in public education, serving in a variety of roles: assistant superintendent, director of curriculum and instruction, middle school principal, director of alternative education, language arts teacher and athletic coach.  She also served as a lead evaluator for schools and on district accreditation teams with Cognia. In her role as director of curriculum and instruction and as assistant superintendent, she was in charge of curriculum development, textbook and materials adoption, state and local assessments, federal and state grants, professional development, district accreditation and served as the corporation’s hearing officer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Goshen College, a Master of Science in Education Administration and Supervision from Indiana University, and an Educational Specialist degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
