Retired Superintendent, South Dearborn

Dr Mehrle worked within the educational/professional book publishing industry early in his professional career. Seeking a career change, he was awarded a Lilly Fellowship designed to bring professionals from other careers into education. Dr. Mehrle taught at South Dearborn High school for seven years and assumed the position of building Principal at Eastern Greene High School. He completed the Indiana University’s Doctoral Educational Leadership program and also attended the Indiana Principal Leadership Academy Dr. Mehrle returned to South Dearborn as the Associate Principal. Dr Mehrle accepted the Assistant Superintendent position at South Ripley Community School corporation. and ultimately served as the Superintendent there. He left South Ripley to finish his career at South Dearborn where he began his educational career serving as the South Dearborn Superintendent until July of 2018. Dr. Mehrle led two school corporations to AdvancEd District Accreditation and served on many accreditation teams. He retired from South Dearborn in July of 2018 and currently resides in Bloomington, Indiana.
